Spilling the tea!

Or rather the juice…

ree

Both of these juices are great to make for a winter health immune booster.

You can buy something similar in stores – but with a little effort it can be cheaper to make this at home, and you know exactly what is going into it.

You could use a juicer to make these with, but I used a blender and a sieve with some cheese cloth to strain the liquid, and it works just as well as what a juicer would do!

These recipes both make about 1 litre of juice but if you fall short on filling the bottle you can always top it up with more tea.

Pomegranate & Hibiscus juice

½ Litre of Hibiscus Leaf Tea

7 Pomegranates

Method

Be warned this can get messy!

Cut and de-seed 7 Pomegranates into a bowl.

Brew up ½ Litre of Hibiscus leaf tea and leave to cool.

Add Seeds & tea into a blender and blitz well – this will break down the seeds.

Strain over a fine sieve into a bowl and decant into a sterilised bottle.

Make sure the juice is cold before refrigerating.

Keeps for a week in the refrigerator.

Turmeric & Ginger shots

I really recommend gloves for when handling the turmeric as it can stain!

You can alter the ingredients to your own taste levels.

Have a play around with the recipe and make it your own.

100gTurmeric fresh

400g Ginger fresh

4 Carrots

4 Lemons

4 Oranges (juicing)

Freshly ground pepper

½ Litre of Green tea

Method

Brew up some green tea and leave to cool.

I found the easiest way was to add the raw ingredients to the blender as I prepped them.

Peel and dice carrots

Take the skin off and segment the lemons and oranges squeeze any remaining juice in.

Peel your ginger and turmeric - roughly dice.

Add freshly ground pepper – you want a good couple of teaspoons.

Add the green tea.

Blend/strain – use a spatula to help push the liquid through the sieve

and decant into a sterilised bottle.

Leave to cool before putting into the refrigerator.

Keeps for 12 days in the refrigerator.
